Baby It’s Cold Outside – How About Inside Games?

Do you like to play pool and ping-pong but only have room for one table?  Well, we have two options for you:

1.     Do without one and miss out on half the fun (NOT recommended!)

2.    Get the pool table and then add a conversion top.  This is a regulation ping-pong table that is in two pieces and it rests on top of the pool table.  This lets you have a full size version of both in just half the space. And don’t worry about scratching the pool table with the conversion top, as there is a protective pad that is attached to the conversion top.  When you aren’t using the conversion top, store it under the pool table.

Christmas Present – Pool Cues!

While some people break with a two-piece cue, most of the experts say not to.  A two-piece cue faces great compression where it screws together and will often break.  Pick up a nice, inexpensive, HEAVY breaking cue and keep you expensive two-piece intact for the finesse game.  –Max

Christmas Ideas!

How about a nice pool cue for the pool aficionado?  We sell a couple hundred every year as presents so other people just think the same way.  Here is a tip though:  Do a little spying before you come in and see if the prospective gift recipient likes a light or heavy cue.  It doesn’t sound like it would be important, but if they use an 18 ounce cue and you get them a 21 ounce cue, it’s like the temperature difference from July to February.

When in doubt, a gift certificate is always a good choice.

We Offer Pool Table Recovering

I am sure you remember how good your table looked when it was done.  The bed cloth was spotless and the balls rolled true.  Over the years, the cloth has changed for a number of reasons.  A big stain from someone spilling a pop, tear in the pockets, burn hole or just  fading  from the  sun.

Well, we can fix that problem for you.  We offer a recovering service to get that Pool Table looking new again.  We have a great selection of cloth colors to choose from.  So stop in today or call and talk to one of our sales associates.

It’s Season Change Over Time

If you stop at the store today you will notice a big difference in our showrooms.  We have moved most of our casual furniture to our  ‘new’ showroom, located just across our parking lot.  In exchange, we have brought to our main showroom all of our fall gaming tables and games—foosball, air hockey, table tennis, poker and card tables that also have bumper pool…and some new items you won’t want to miss.  We have non-slate billiard tables that have a top you put on that makes it a beautiful dining table.  There is a giant craps table with a removable top that turns the table into a Texas Hold’em table or a dining table.  Back by popular demand is a basketball shootout game that lets two players compete against themselves or the clock, a football toss game, and a Roll-A-Score game that is just plain fun!  In addition, we have brought over our bars and pub tables.

Why not stop in and see how we can help keep you and your family having a great time all year round.  –Max

A Rainbow of Colors

A customer of ours recently brought up a great point that I thought would be nice to share with you all.  She recently had our service department come out and re-felt (re-cloth?) her pool table.  They had chosen a much lighter felt color than they had previously and were shocked when their chalk left blue streaks all over their table.  She, like many others I’m sure, didn’t even realize other colors of billiard chalk even existed.  Those hideous marks can easily be avoided by purchasing some billiard chalk closer to the color of your felt.  Black, burgundy, green, tan…we have a wide variety of different options that you can choose from to make that particular issue virtually disappear. Already have some of those chalk marks?  Don’t scrub it!  Like carpet you will only grind the color in further and mess up your felt.  Simply use your table brush or a lint roller to try and pick up as many of the colored flakes as possible.
