See Us At The Home And Garden Show . . . Get your Hot Tub!!
Eastgate Pools is prominently displayed at this year’s Fifth Third Bank Cincinnati Home and Garden Show at the Duke Energy Convention Center. There—did I get all the sponsor’s names in that sentence? Kind of like a NASCAR race. Anyway, our return features some great deals on Hot Tubs. Factory representatives will be there and we’ll have some incredible prices on quality first-run hot tubs. Why not stop on down and pick one out. Or just stop and say hi to me. I’ll be there for the entire show, which runs February 26-27, and March 2-6. It is closed on Monday February 28 and Tuesday March 1.
Want to attend for free? Well stop at the store and get a VIP pass for FREE admission on Wednesday March 2, Thursday March 3, or Friday March 4. I have a limited supply of these VIP passes so I’ve placed a limit of four per request or until they are gone. Just see any of our store sales phenoms for your free VIP passes. –Max
Showroom Changes
Stop in and see the new look to our showroom. We have taken out an island and made it more open for you to look at our spas. I think you will find our changes very refreshing. – Tim
On The Passing Of A Good Friend…
Sadly, we have been told of the passing of Dave Habig, one of our Eastgate Pools’ family. ‘Big Guy’ as he was affectionately know, began his ties with us as a customer many years ago when we built an in-ground pool for him. Over the years, be was a regular fixture here in the store. When he retired from Milacron, he soon decided his wife Vickie had far too many things on the ‘honey-do’ list and he decided he wanted to keep working, even if just a little bit. We gladly hired him as a store associate and for many years, he was able to assist both customers and us. If there was ever someone that could find an obscure part or hard-to-locate accessory, it was Dave. He would simply disappear and not come back until he found it. I honestly can’t remember him coming back empty-handed.
Dave was also a master storyteller and I am quite positive that many will be retold over and over to future generations of Eastgate Family. They are timeless.
Big guy – we’ll miss you and your hearty laugh. To Vickie and all the kids and grandkids, you have our deepest sympathies. –The Eastgate Pools Family.
Thank You!
All of us at Eastgate Pools would like to thank our customers for a successful 2010. We would also like to thank Mother Nature, without her influence and an unusually hot summer, we may not have as much steam heading out of this recession as we currently have. All signs point to another great year. We look forward to seeing everyone again in this new year!
Good luck to you all!
Go Williamsburg Wildcats!!
I am proud to say that my son, Bill, will be playing varsity basketball this year at Williamsburg High School. Some of you know him as he works part time here at the store. He’s a great son (like my other two) and is very active in the school, in sports, and in the community. And all the while maintaining an ‘A’ average in all his classes. He only works Sundays this time of year but when summer rolls around, you’ll see him here a lot. So how is this pertinent to Eastgate Pools & Spas? It’s not. I just wanted to brag a little. –Max
Help Me, Help You
Here at Eastgate Pools & Spas we pride ourselves on knowledge of the products that we carry. We have a lot of people who have been working here for more than 10 years and can answer questions about items that we don’t carry any longer. If you bought something used form one of our customers we will be more than happy to extend the same help to you. I have learned about many products both past and present and sometimes its hard to know what information you need but if you tell us as much as possible about what you have we should be able to help you.

Keep The Kids Home & Know Where They Are!!
I’ve raised three sons. Just call me Fred MacMurray. Well, I’m sure many of you parents can attest to the fact that one of the scariest things is to turn the kids loose on the roads during winter. Black ice, snow, tires with a few more miles on them than you would like—it’s all enough to give you an ulcer.
So why not keep them home with a new billiard or game table? KNOW where they are (and the neighborhood gang too) and have good family fun at the same time. See us this holiday season for some great ideas and forget the ulcer. –Max
My Eastgate Family
After 4 ½ years of constant hard work and dedication, I can finally announce that I am graduating from college with a degree in Middle Grades Education (No, I’m not crazy). With graduation quickly approaching, I have been looking to the future and planning for what is to come (as much as I possibly can). As I think of my future, though, I can’t help but to think of my past.
I’ve now been working at Eastgate Pools for 4 ½ years, and I must say, it’s unlike any job I’ve ever had. What you have at Eastgate is a close group of people who genuinely care about each other. I’ve had the joy of meeting so many good people through this place—people I like to call friends, if not family. Like any family, we have our “up’s” and “down’s,” but at the end of the day, we all have each other’s best interests at heart. We celebrate each other’s birthdays. We celebrate the birth of new babies into the “Eastgate Family.” We mourn the death of loved ones passed. We party together at weddings. We lend each other shoulders to lean on, open ears to listen, and honest advice (even if it isn’t necessarily asked for). The best part of it all is that we extend the same care, respect, and honest advice to our customers. You treat us with kindness and respect, and you’ll never know a better company to work with. So, guess what Eastgate Family…I’m graduating!!! Time to celebrate with me and break out the checkbooks…that’s what family is for, right? (Just kidding) J
Customer Service
Every person has a different idea about what good customer service means and I believe that what we do here at Eastgate Pools & Spas stands out above anyone in our industry. We have always prided ourselves on our customer service and that is reflected by the over 10,000 customers in our frequent buyer program. It’s not that we answer their questions with a different answer or how we carry their purchases to the counter that matters; it’s the personal connection we have with almost all of our customers that means the most. We know about the lives of our customers and we take the time every time they come in to ask how things have been. The personal touch we provide makes our customers feel special and that is why they come back here time and time again.

We Have EdenPure
The late Paul Harvey and now Bob Vila have touted the merits of the EdenPURE quartz room heater. We have carried one model for the past three seasons but now, we are offering a second EdenPURE model. I can personally attest that these are great little heaters and now with the EdenPURE USA 1000, we are happy to offer the ONLY Made In America room heater on the market. Stop in and feel the heat. We use one to keep us warm up by the front counter and trust me, if it didn’t work it wouldn’t be there. –Max
Twelve Days Of Eastgate
On the twelvth day of Christmas my true love sent to me:
Twelve hot tubs bubbling,
Eleven saunas steaming,
Ten foosball tables,
Nine beds a’tanning,
Eight chaise lounges,
Seven umbrellas,
Six billiard tables,
Five billiard balls,
Four solar reels,
Three dart boards,
Two pool floats,
And an inground pool in the back yard.
Best Christmas Movie Ever!
I know that my pick for the best Christmas move of all time will be up for debate. I have always loved Christmas and as such have loved watching the many movies that have dealt with the greatest holiday of all. My favorite and best Christmas movie of all time is Mickey’s Christmas Carol. I know people love “A Christmas Story” or “It’s a Wonderful Life” but to me Mickey is where its at.

Great Surprise For Christmas!
If you’ve spent any time at all in almost any store at all lately, no doubt you’ve also noticed that the holidays are right around the corner, and you’ve started thinking that very special gift for your family. They’ve been extra good this year, and wouldn’t it be great to treat them to a present that not only guarantees a surprise but also extends that holiday togetherness throughout the year and for years to come? Imagine their delight they “unwrap” their new inground pool from Eastgate Pools. And imagine your delight when you realize that you saved thousands by acting before the New Year’s price increase. Happy holidays to all!
‘Tis The Season
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…or is it? It seems like the older I get, the more and more the holiday season loses its luster. I become increasingly more aware of the lack of “Christmas spirit,” and the increase in Sinicism, in the people around me. Everyone becomes so consumed with the gifts they are going to receive, and the amount of money they are going to “have” to spend, that they forget what the holidays are about. I’m sick of people cutting me off on the road, or trying to beat me to a checkout line. People have turned this season of family and giving, into a season of “getting the best deal” and stepping on anyone they have to in order to get it. We need to all take a deep breath and think about what the holidays are all about. It’s about being thoughtful and kind. Spending quality time with the people you love. Taking an extra moment to enjoy the scenery. Most importantly, though, it’s about thinking about all of the things (and people) you do have, and appreciating them for what/who they are. (Yes, you have to do that on days other than Thanksgiving.) You never know when you may not have them anymore. So, this season, let’s relax a little and remind ourselves of what’s actually important (and PLEASE, take the time to instill the same ideas into your children). You’ll find the holidays to be much more enjoyable and satisfying that way.
