My Infared Heater

We have carried the EdenPURE heaters for several years now, and last year we added another option in the Infinity Heat.  I live in an older home in Latonia and thought I would get one of the Infinity heaters to offset the chill (putting it kindly) in my unfinished basement.  While I can’t say that my utility bill decreased I was certainly happy to have a house that was, in general, much warmer.  This year I’ve decided to bring the heater upstairs and try to use it for more of a zone heating perspective.  I couldn’t be happier with how this has worked.  Any area I’m in is nice and toasty, but equally important is the fact that my gas furnace is hardly getting used.  I’m actually looking forward to my upcoming bill because I know it is going to be such a big savings over last year.  If you looking to take the sting out of your utilities this winter I can recommend one of these units…from experience!

EdenPURE or Infinity Heater?

What one should you choose?

It’s pretty simple—take your pick.  They are both great heaters.  Lets look at the similarities.

  1. Both are infrared heaters.  They don’t rob your home of moisture like traditional coil heaters.
  2. Both are totally safe to use and cannot start fires.
  3. Both are lightweight, allowing you to easily move them from one room to another.
  4. Both are economical and operate for about 6-8 cents per hour (depends on your supplier’s rate).
  5. Both are easy to use.

So what are the differences?

  1. Infinity offers a digital read-out
  2. Infinity offers a ‘sleep-timer’ feature, where the heater will automatically shut off after a length of time you determine.
  3. EdenPURE Gen 3 is manually controlled and the USA1000 units have a remote.  Infinity has a remote.
  4. EdenPURE has a black, plastic, molded frame.  Infinity has a furniture grade wooden cabinet.
  5. EdenPURE warranty work must be performed at the factory.  Save the box and send it back to them.  Trained Eastgate Pools Service department personnel service Infinity heaters, in-store.

I own one EdenPURE and I love it.  I’ve had it five years and it still works great.  I have since purchase two Infinity heaters and they both work great. I chose Infinity because I really like the digital read-out.  Ultimately, it’s your call but I don’t think you can go wrong with either heater.  –Max

Watching It Rain…

waiting for it to turn into snow.

Ugh.  I’m not one of those people that “just love winter”.  Personally, give me an inch of snow on Christmas day and I’ll then be happy with 60 degrees and cloudy the rest of the winter.  I heat my home with propane and I do not look forward to the monthly re-fill and the subsequent bill that mysteriously and magically appears three days later!  I think that if you look up the word ‘sucks’ in the dictionary, there will be a picture of my propane tank right next to it.  But I have found a way to keep the bill down a little.  Actually a lot…and I can still stay warm.  I use two of our room quartz heaters in different areas of my house.  I have an Infinity heater in my bedroom and an EdenPURE in my son’s room.  This lets me turn my thermostat way down at night and everyone is still comfortable while sleeping.  They pour the heat out and operate for about 6-7 cents an hour.   We know that is correct as we have a meter set up here at the store and have done the calculations.   That’s half of what my ‘95% efficient’ propane furnace costs me.  It’s easy to figure:  “95%” means only 5% of the gas is not being used to generate heat.  At $2.50 a gallon, 5% is 12.5 cents.

Save some money—get an EdenPURE or Infinity quartz heater and turn your thermostat back.  –Max

Baby, It’s Cold Outside

It’s cold outside and it’s going to be colder before it’s all said and done. Have you seen the infomercials that have been running this season about Edenpure heaters? They are a phenomena. It’s not so much the Edenpure brand that’s so great, although it’s a fantastic product. It’s the concept of zone heating and the energy efficient and safe means that an infrared heater supplies the heat that is the exciting thing. People are shutting off their forced air furnaces and coming in and buying one or two units to heat either their whole house or just a section of the house they want to heat. We recently got in a new unit called the Infinity Heat zone heater, we are excited about it! It puts out more heat then other units and it has two speeds for even more energy conservation. Come in and find out what all the buzz is about.
