They say that the early bird gets the worm, but sometimes the procrastinator gets rewarded as well. I know, for us planners, this doesn’t always seem fair. What does this have to do with Eastgate Pools & Spas? Plenty!
Recently, we received a phone call from Telescope Casual, a 100+ year-old American casual furniture manufacturer. They were preparing to update their Chicago Merchandise Mart Showroom with 2011 product. The Chicago area dealer that was supposed to buy the showroom full of 2010 product backed out at the last minute and Telescope needed a another dealer to step up to the plate. Having purchased the showroom numerous times in the past, Eastgate Pools was familiar with the logistics involved, and we made Telescope an offer. The offer was accepted and last Wednesday a group of us made the trip to Chicago to prepare the showroom for its move to Cincinnati. By Thursday afternoon, several 53’ truckloads of Telescope Casual furniture were on their way back to our store.
So, how does this all fit together? For those customers that were planning on buying new outdoor furniture this spring and haven’t gotten around to it yet, you can purchase quality Telescope Casual furniture at greatly reduced prices. We bought right and we are passing on the savings. So don’t worry that spring has become summer. Your procrastinating has paid off! Sounds like you should reward your good fortune and excellent planning with a relaxing afternoon enjoying some new Telescope patio furniture.
Tanning Bed Liquidation Special
We did it—again! A major east coast retailer decided to get out of the tanning bed business so we bought up everything they had. If you have been looking for a great deal on a quality in-home tanning system, we have six models to choose from. With both traditional beds and free-standing tanning booths, they will go fast. Many were floor demos and may have some small scratches and blemishes, but so what? All are new and have full warranty and are top-notch units. Don’t miss out though. 2010 marks our 30th year in business and I’d like to thank everyone for all their business and patronage over the past three decades. We have quite a few customers that we can trace back to the beginning—sort of prehistoric times in the pool business. Some are on their second, third, or even fourth pool (thanks for moving to new homes!). Some have had several hot tubs and many have outfitted not just their back deck with our casual furniture, but so have their kids and their grandkids.
Demo Game Tables
If you are looking for a new air hockey, foosball, or card table we are currently attempting to clear our main showroom to make room for this year’s inventory on casual furniture. How does this apply to you? This is the time of year when you can buy a new game table (demo models) at pretty significantly reduced pricing. These tables are in good shape and ready to roll. Expecting My First Child
My wife and I are currently expecting our first child. During her last doctors appointment we were informed that any day she could go into labor. As for the sex of our first child, we had decided to wait until the delivery to preserve the element of surprise. (my wife’s idea) As far as we know the baby is healthy and everything with the pregnancy has gone extremely well. Unfortunately that doesn’t cure all of my concerns. Despite the fact that their are six billion people on earth, and humans have been having babies since the beginning of time, for some reason I still get the feeling like I am the first one of us to go through this. All kidding aside I am getting really excited/nervous about the idea of becoming a dad. Luckily for me I have some good role models as far as raising children including my own dad, maybe you’ve heard of him. He has been in such productions as: “Eastgate Pools & Spas Winter Sale commercials, Eastgate Pools and Spas Anniversary Sale commercials, Eastgate… well you get the idea.
ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF
My name is Rich West and I am new to the sales department here at Eastgate Pools and Spas. If I look familiar when you come into the store it could be because I have quite a history here. I originally worked here from 1998 through 2002 stocking shelves and helping customers to their cars, among other things. From 2003 until the beginning of 2009 I was working in residential construction, while I attended Northern Kentucky University. In May I graduated from NKU with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and an associate’s degree in Construction Technology.
I did spend the majority of this years’ pool season working in the service department here at Eastgate, which could make me look familiar to some of our customers. So, when you’re in the store look me up and I will be more than happy to help you with anything that I can. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Summer Sizzle Event now through May 24th
Just a little note to tell you all about our Summer Sizzle Event. We have some special discounts on Above Ground Pools and we have priced In-ground pools at 2005 prices. Crazy huh??? We’ve also added a new spa line from Four Winds. These are very nice spas made in Tennessee and we’re featuring an introductory special on the Jamaica model.
