Hello Sports Fans!

All the O$U fans OK?  If you want to see somebody in a sweater vest again, maybe we can get Max to wear one in the next commercial!!

Bengal fans, at least we can say we were undefeated if they don’t settle the labor issue!!!

And better yet, we won’t have to listen to Mike Brown or Marvin Lewis stumble thru news consferences.

Reds fans are you as frustrated at watching this team as me?  Why does Chris Heisey continue to sit? Does Dusty have a crush on Fred Lewis and Johnny Gomes?  Anybody else sick of seeing Homer Bailey and Edinson Volquez pitch?  Good thing we play in a weak division or we would be 12 games out!!

Bearcat Fans, any chance Butch Jones gets his boys to play better?  Brian Kelly sure didn’t leave him much when he left, but I think we are in for a good year.  When is the last time 2 players were on a watch list for National Player of the Year??

Xavier fans, not sure what I could talk about with you guys.  Do you even have any fall sports teams?

Love to hear from the sports fans, so drop a note!!

Tim

Spring Is Here – It’s Pool Time!

I love this time of year when the birds start to sing, the grass starts to green up, and Cincinnati’s only professional sports team—the Reds—start to play.  (Sorry—I forgot about the Cyclones.)  And warm weather mean it is time to get out of the house and into the back yard.  Time to open the pool!  Don’t have one?  Then it’s time to get one!  Why wait?  Whether it is an above ground or an in-ground, don’t find yourself watching the neighbor swimming in their pool while you await delivery and of yours.  Early bird buyers have two major advantages over the procrastinators.  1) You get the years best pricing and 2), you get the early install dates.  Do you really want to wait until summer is half over and the waiting list is as long as the play-list at a Bruce Springsteen concert?  Which by the way, if you’ve never been to a Boss concert, you’re missing out on a GREAT concert!

But I digress.  Get the pool, enjoy the ENTIRE summer, and repeat it next year… and the next year… and the next, and….  –Max

Here It Comes Again

Its less than 2 months until the Reds season begins and I couldn’t be happier.  The Reds are defending NL Central champs and the Cincinnati area could use some wins.  The football season ended the wrong way but at least the Steelers didn’t win when it really counted.  The Reds are the oldest team in baseball and have the reigning NL MVP for the first time in years.  They have a fantastic young pitching staff and it will only get better.  So, the next time you feel down about the football season cheer up and remember it won’t be long until the boys of summer are back on the field.

Cincinnati Reds Discussions

During slow periods the staff of Eastgate Pools likes to discuss potential strategy and player moves we might suggest for the organization. Whether to keep Arthur Rhodes in the closing spot or who the starting center fielder should be. Every day  after a game, guaranteed, at least 10 minutes is dedicated to the finer nuances of the previous nights game. So, as the Reds make the final push for a playoff spot, and you happen to be in our store, if you are looking for some small talk you won’t have to try hard if you talk Reds baseball.

How About Those Reds!!!

1st place in June!!  Somebody wake me up from this dream!!  Is the 1990 team all over again??  Only time will tell and we do have plenty of games left to find out if they are for real.  Since we do have so many games left, why not stop in a purchase that casual furniture set that you can enjoy as you listen to Marty and the Cowboy call another Reds win!!  Stop in today, we have 2 showrooms and 2 tents full of furniture waiting to be had!!

Spring Is In The Air

It’s that wonderful time of year when the season begins to change from cold and miserable to warm and beautiful. The first sign of spring for me is spring training for the Reds. Then spring training gets accompanied by March Madness which is basically a count down to opening day. I love March Madness and the excitement that comes with it, but I greatly look forward to baseball season every year as it typically means warmer air, greener scenery, and the return of outdoor activities. One of my favorite things to do in the spring and summer is listen to the Reds game on the back deck while grilling out and sharing a few adult beverages with friends and family. As far as I’m concerned it really doesn’t get much better than that. As an added bonus this year, I will get to do all of this with my new son.
